Is real invention possible? Is reality an invention?
Reality and invention are two words inseparable from art, whose meaning, like few other concepts, stimulates our imagination. What is reality?
Is it absolute and universal, or is it something entirely individual, arising in each person as a construct of our senses, as Heinz von Förster suggested? When considering the word invention, the question immediately arises whether the new is really possible or, as Ulrich Bröckling states, ‘creatio ex nihilo only exists as a divine act’.
In this project, Anders Førisdal and Luís Antunes Pena aim to address these two concepts and explore the tension between improvisation and composition, between field recordings and live music.
